Quinas Completes Innovate UK Project Advancing ULTRARAM for Neuromorphic Computing
Quinas Technology Ltd has finalized a £1.1m project funded by Innovate UK, enhancing its ULTRARAM memory technology for AI and neuromorphic computing applications. This milestone supports the development of energy-efficient memory solutions, addressing key limitations in conventional technologies crucial for next-generation computing.

Quinas Technology Ltd has completed a £1.1m project under Innovate UK, focused on optimizing ULTRARAM for AI and neuromorphic computing. The project, part of the UKRI 'Developing Semiconductor Hardware for Critical Technologies' scheme, advances the device optimization and architecture necessary for compute-in-memory applications.
ULTRARAM's design is based on compound semiconductors and quantum resonant tunneling, combining the speed of DRAM with the non-volatility of flash. The collaboration with Lancaster University and IQE plc supports ongoing development of ULTRARAM crossbar arrays. Successful implementation of this technology may significantly influence future computing architectures and energy efficiency, potentially reshaping market dynamics.
