The Sud-Milienne wastewater treatment plant in Radès will undergo a €40 million rehabilitation and expansion project as part of the EU-funded Dépoll Med program, in collaboration with AFD, BEI, and ONAS. The initiative seeks to modernize an infrastructure established in the 1980s, improving wastewater treatment quality in southern Tunis, an area with high urban density and industrial activity.
The project has three key objectives: reducing pollutant discharge, addressing climate change by enhancing treated water for irrigation, and integrating a sludge digestion unit for biogas production. This modernization is expected to improve the quality of life in Greater Tunis and support environmental protection.
