Rețele Electrice Romania Begins Construction of 110/20 kV Substation in Balotești

Rețele Electrice Romania has started construction of a 110/20 kV substation in Balotești, Romania, with completion expected in 2027 and an investment exceeding RON 75 million. This substation will improve electricity supply for Balotești, Corbeanca, and Otopeni.

The project includes a modern design and integration into the existing network. Two transformers with an initial capacity of 25 MVA each will be installed, with potential expansion to 2 x 63 MVA. In parallel, medium voltage power lines in the area are being modernized, benefiting 15,000 customers with an investment of over RON 115 million, including RON 23 million from the company’s funds.
