Relativity Space Advances Terran R with Engine Integration and Structural Testing
Relativity Space has initiated engine integration for its Terran R launch vehicle's first stage, marking a critical development milestone. The reusable vehicle, designed for medium-to-heavy lift missions, aims for a potential debut flight in late 2026 amid ongoing test campaigns and infrastructure preparations.

Engine integration for Relativity Space's Terran R first stage has commenced, with the installation of 13 Aeon R engines, each providing 269,000 lbf of thrust. This follows structural qualification testing, where the first stage endured over 400 pressure cycles and 4.3 million lbf of axial compression, validating its capacity for various operational loads.
Concurrently, the second stage at NASA's Stennis Space Center has completed cryogenic proof tests and is scheduled for hot-fire testing after the installation of its Aeon V engine. Infrastructure at Cape Canaveral is progressing, with enhancements to Launch Complex 16. Following these developments, the Terran R is positioned for eventual flight testing, potentially ahead of competitors like Rocket Lab's Neutron.
