Río Negro Governor Emphasizes Energy Projects for Local Benefits
Governor Alberto Weretilneck of Río Negro highlights the need for energy investments to create jobs and infrastructure. Strategic projects like VMOS and LNG initiatives are positioned to enhance the province's role in Argentina's energy landscape.

Governor Alberto Weretilneck stressed that energy projects in Río Negro, particularly those linked to Vaca Muerta, must yield tangible benefits for its residents. Key developments include the Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) pipeline, which will transport 550,000 barrels daily over 600 kilometers with an investment of approximately $3 billion.
Additionally, the LNG initiatives, led by Southern Energy, aim to produce 6 million tons annually, and the Argentina LNG project anticipates $30 billion in investments. Weretilneck outlined four essential conditions to maintain these investments: political stability, legal security, economic predictability, and social agreements, focusing on local employment and suppliers.
