ROHM Semiconductor Launches Reference Board for Low-Side Current Sensing
ROHM Semiconductor introduced a reference design for low-side current sensing, enabling precise measurements in automotive and industrial applications. The board supports currents up to 100 A, streamlining development for engineers.

ROHM Semiconductor has released a reference board designed for low-side current sensing, which operates within a supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V and can handle sense-line voltages up to 26 V. This design utilizes four parallel 2mΩ shunt resistors along with a low-noise operational amplifier, allowing for accurate current measurements up to 100 A.
The four-layer PCB measures 90mm x 80mm and includes Zener diode protection against voltage spikes. The provided evaluation procedure facilitates performance testing using a DC power supply and voltmeter. This innovation may lead to reduced development times and greater reliability in high-current applications.
