Romanian Army's Truck Contract with Geo-Sting SRL Faces Delays
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense's contract for 2,909 trucks may be delayed until 2026 due to assembly issues.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense (MApN) signed a contract in late 2019 with Iveco Defense Vehicles SpA for 2,909 trucks, primarily assembled by Geo-Sting SRL. The delivery deadline is pushed from late 2023 to potentially 2026, raising concerns over military logistics and operational capacity.
Despite these issues, MApN does not intend to terminate the contract, suggesting a commitment to resolving the delays. The assembly facility meets the legal requirements for military equipment production, but the involvement of Geo-Sting SRL, controlled by Georgică Dumitru, introduces elements of risk in the fulfillment timeline.
