Rural Electrification Agency Connects Matsenga Schools and Business Centres to National Grid
The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) connected Matsenga Primary and Secondary Schools and two business centres in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe District to the national grid, enhancing service delivery in education and business. The project, initiated in February 2023 and completed in September 2023, involved 3 km of powerline installation and a 200 Kva substation. Local employment was created during implementation. Officials emphasized the importance of safeguarding the infrastructure and using electricity productively to improve livelihoods.

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) connected Matsenga Primary and Secondary Schools and two business centres in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe District to the national grid. The project began in February 2023 and was completed in September 2023, involving the construction of approximately 3 km of powerline and installation of a 200 Kva substation at Holgate business centre, which serves over 80 shops and 12 villages.
The initiative aims to electrify all public institutions in Mashonaland East by 2026. Local employment was generated during the project. Officials highlighted the importance of protecting the infrastructure and utilizing electricity to enhance community livelihoods.
