Saab Secures SEK 460 Million Order for Carl-Gustaf M4 Weapons from Lithuania

Saab has secured a contract valued at SEK 460 million to supply Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifles and training equipment to Lithuania, with deliveries planned from 2026 to 2029. This agreement is part of a broader ten-year contract that may reach up to SEK 640 million through additional options.
The contract includes not only weapon systems but also training-related systems aimed at improving the operational readiness of Lithuanian armed forces. Additionally, cooperation with Lithuania's domestic defense industry is included to support local participation in military acquisitions.
The Carl-Gustaf M4, a portable system used by over 40 countries, is designed for various combat scenarios and has been tailored based on operational feedback. Lithuania's military investments are part of broader efforts to deter aggression in the region, with defense spending projected to reach 4% of GDP by 2025.
