SAIC's Protest Over $1.4B CASTLE-NET Contract Denied by GAO
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has denied SAIC's protest regarding the $1.4 billion CASTLE-NET contract awarded to Accenture Federal Services. This decision allows Accenture to proceed with modernizing the Army Corps of Engineers' IT and cybersecurity services.

SAIC's protest against the award of the $1.4 billion CASTLE-NET contract to Accenture Federal Services has been denied by the GAO. Accenture secured the contract in January as part of the GSA's Alliant 2 task order, aimed at modernizing IT and cybersecurity services for the Army Corps of Engineers.
The CASTLE-NET project is set to last five years, potentially extending to mid-2031 if all options are exercised. SAIC, which previously held the contract under the Revolutionary Information Technology Services task order since 2021, cannot escalate its protest to the U.S.
Court of Federal Claims due to jurisdictional limitations. This outcome may lead to shifts in competitive dynamics within government contracting.
