Samsung Launches New HX Division to Enhance Humanoid Robotics Operations
Samsung Electronics is restructuring its robotics operations into a centralized division, named 'HX,' to focus on humanoid robots. The initiative aims to improve efficiency and accelerate developments in AI-driven robotics for both industrial and consumer markets.

Samsung Electronics plans to centralize its robotics operations into a dedicated organization called 'HX' to enhance its competitive edge in humanoid robots. This new structure will integrate teams from the Future Robotics Office, Samsung Research, and Global Technology Research, with potential elevation to a business division upon establishing an independent production line.
The company aims to automate its manufacturing facilities, deploying robots as early as the second half of this year. Samsung is also focusing on the development of advanced robotics technology, including capabilities for manipulating deformable objects, and expanding its robotics ecosystem through in-house development and partnerships. Analysts highlight the strategic advantage of utilizing behavioral data from Samsung's semiconductor fabs for robot training, estimated to be worth up to $67.5 billion.
