Sardinia Launches Residual Biomass Project for Energy Transition in Carbonia
A regional initiative focusing on residual biomass for energy transition begins in Carbonia, led by RSE and the University of Cagliari. Funded by the PNRR, the project aims to develop sustainable energy solutions involving local communities and businesses. A series of meetings will follow, discussing the role of residual biomass in reducing fossil fuel dependency and fostering innovation in energy production. The initiative also explores hydrogen and biofuels, aligning with decarbonization policies in the Regional Energy Plan.

The regional initiative on residual biomass has commenced in Carbonia, spearheaded by RSE and the University of Cagliari. Funded by the PNRR, the project aims to create a sustainable energy model emphasizing the use of residual biomass from agriculture and forestry.
Initial discussions will take place in a series of meetings scheduled across Sardinia, starting in Carbonia and continuing to Olbia, Nuoro, and Cagliari. The initiative seeks to involve local communities and businesses in energy production from renewable sources. It also focuses on applied research to maximize energy potential and explore the production of hydrogen and various biofuels, contributing to the region's decarbonization goals.
