SEMI Europe has entered a two-year agreement with the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce to advance semiconductor development in Poland. The partnership aims to strengthen economic ties and support the semiconductor sector's green transition. This collaboration aligns with Europe's broader goals under the EU Chips Act to boost local chip production. Additionally, Infineon executives emphasized the need for Europe to invest in larger, automated wafer fabs to compete with rising Chinese semiconductor capabilities.

SEMI Europe has signed a two-year agreement with the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce to enhance semiconductor development in Poland. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), established in Sopot, aims to accelerate industry expansion and support a green transition, while strengthening ties between Poland and Taiwan-linked business networks.
This partnership is aligned with the EU's goal to increase its chip production share from 10% to 20% by 2030. Infineon executives have called for increased investment in larger, automated 300-millimeter wafer fabs to remain competitive against Chinese manufacturers in power and analog chips. They also highlighted the significance of existing European plants in maintaining global competitiveness.
