Seongnam City submitted a supplementary budget proposal to the city council, increasing this year's budget by 239.6 billion won, which includes funding for the Pangyo System Semiconductor Research Center. If approved during the city council's extraordinary session starting March 12, the total budget will rise from 3.9408 trillion won to 4.1804 trillion won, a 6.08% increase.

Significant allocations include 26.2 billion won for the semiconductor center, 11.3 billion won for public transport fare refunds, and additional funds for electric vehicle subsidies and welfare increases for centenarians. Infrastructure improvements and leisure facility enhancements are also part of the budget.
