Following the Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the Assam Assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to be sworn in as Chief Minister for a second term. Singapore's High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, conveyed congratulations and reaffirmed Singapore's commitment to Assam's growth, highlighting existing cooperation in industrial investment, technology, and skill development.
The Assam government has engaged Singaporean firms for developing a semiconductor ecosystem at Jagiroad's Electronic City project.
