Six Alaska Communities Awarded Federal Funds for Infrastructure Improvements
Six communities in Alaska have been allocated federal funds for infrastructure projects through the THUD appropriations bill. Kodiak receives $5 million for harbor upgrades, Soldotna gets $2.387 million for transportation infrastructure, Petersburg Borough is granted $2 million for harbor protections, Anchorage obtains $1.75 million for a new electric substation, Ouzinkie is awarded $1.1 million for harbor modernization, and Homer receives $250,000 for float system replacement.

On February 13, U.S. Representative Nick Begich announced federal funds for six Alaska communities as part of the THUD appropriations bill. The City of Kodiak is awarded $5 million for upgrading St.
Hermans harbor. The City of Soldotna receives $2.387 million for transportation infrastructure on Marydale Avenue. Petersburg Borough is allocated $2 million for harbor protections.
The Municipality of Anchorage will get $1.75 million for a new electric substation under the Port of Alaska Modernization Program. The City of Ouzinkie is granted $1.1 million for harbor infrastructure modernization, and the City of Homer receives $250,000 for replacing aging float systems at Homer Port Freight.
