SkyNRG has finalized funding for its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility, DSL-01, located at the Delfzijl chemical park in the Netherlands. The plant is expected to produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable co-products annually, using the hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids (HEFA) method supported by Topsoe's HydroFlex technology.
Initial lifecycle GHG emissions reductions are projected at 80%, increasing to over 90% as renewable energy availability improves. Construction has begun, with operations anticipated to start in mid-2028. KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines will be the primary purchaser of the produced SAF.
