South Korea Cabinet Approves 18 Bills Including Semiconductor Support Act and Constitution Day Public Holiday
The South Korean Cabinet approved 18 bills, including the Special Act on Strengthening the Competitiveness of the Semiconductor Industry and the designation of Constitution Day (July 17) as a public holiday, during the 4th State Council meeting at the Blue House. The Special Act establishes a Presidential Committee for semiconductor industry competitiveness and a Semiconductor Innovation Growth Support Team under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Other approved bills include amendments related to the Itaewon disaster victims' rights, copyright law, public holidays, fair subcontracting, and child abuse crime punishment. The meeting also discussed improving the life-sustaining medical decision system and reported on measures regarding multiple homeowners' capital gains tax and public livelihood stability enforcement.
