Southern Energy Renewables is partnering with Axens to advance sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) projects, focusing initially on a biomass-to-fuel initiative in Louisiana. The memorandum of understanding specifies that Southern will oversee project development, including site development and stakeholder coordination, while Axens will contribute technological expertise, particularly in CO2 capture and SAF production.

The project aims to create a reliable link from local biomass to low-carbon fuels. Southern will also launch a digital token, $SAF, to track production performance, starting with a pilot plant.
