Spanish Government Approves €108 Million High-Speed Rail Link Between Lorca and Vera
The Spanish Council of Ministers has authorized the construction of a €108 million high-speed rail line between Lorca and Vera, spanning 61.5 kilometers and including four stations: Puerto Lumbreras, Almendricos, Pulpí, and Vera-Almanzora. The project aims to restore rail connectivity between Murcia and Andalucía.
Adif AV will manage the tendering process and is already overseeing other parts of the Murcia-Almería line. The project includes electrification, construction of a substation, and installation of advanced signalling systems. The new rail link is expected to significantly impact Murcia's economy, supported by a financing plan that could yield an additional €1.2 billion annually for the region.
