St. Kitts and Nevis Implements Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Policies
St. Kitts and Nevis is accelerating its clean energy transition through new policies and regional partnerships. The government has approved an Electric Vehicle Transition Policy and launched the Solar Rise Programme, which incentivizes rooftop solar installations and allows for payments for surplus energy.
The annual Career Day has expanded to engage students in energy sector careers. At the sub-regional level, a new energy roadmap is being developed within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. Geothermal energy development on Nevis is underway, alongside projects funded by Taiwan and India. Support from the European Union, World Bank, and Eastern Caribbean Central Bank is aiding the country's renewable energy goals.
