STV has completed designs for six traction power substations under TriMet's Banfield Type 1 Substation Replacement Project in Portland, Oregon. The project has received Issued for Construction approval, facilitating modernization on the MAX Blue Line, where original substations, installed in 1983, are nearing the end of their life.

The 12-year replacement initiative will add traction power equipment, reducing future maintenance costs and enhancing safety. Construction is set to begin this year and continue until 2028, with designs for four additional substations commencing in July 2026.
