The Wharton Street Revitalization Project in Summerland is nearing completion at 99% completion based on budget expenditure. The project, which began in late April 2025, includes reconstruction, sidewalk installation, utility upgrades, and park enhancements, with an overall budget of $8.557 million.

Throughout 2025, downtown streets were closed for construction. The remaining work involves installing catenary lighting in Veterans Memorial Square and completing electrical work at the substation on Prairie Valley Road. A new washroom facility is expected to open this month, with final landscaping scheduled for summer.
