Sustainable Molecules and Eren Groupe Launch €500m Waste-to-Molecules Venture
West Midlands cleantech firm Sustainable Molecules has partnered with Eren Groupe to launch a €500m joint venture focused on waste-to-molecules infrastructure. The venture will implement modular advanced gasification technology to convert non-recyclable waste into clean syngas for renewable methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, and synthetic methane, targeting hard-to-abate industrial sectors.

Sustainable Molecules (SuMo) has formed a joint venture with Eren Groupe to create a €500m waste-to-molecules infrastructure initiative. The partnership will utilize modular advanced gasification technology to convert non-recyclable waste into clean syngas, which can be transformed into renewable methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, and synthetic methane.
This technology aims to address decarbonization in challenging industrial, chemical, and transport sectors. SuMo has over 10 years of experience in development and operational demonstration, including a 10 MWth plant.
