Suzuki Motor Corp. has launched its second biogas plant in Bhukhala, Gujarat, India, which processes cow dung to produce methane for compressed natural gas vehicles. The plant, operational since January, processes 100 tons of cow dung per day and generates about 1.5 tons of biogas daily.
This initiative, part of a demonstration project with a local dairy association, aims to enhance farmers' incomes. The company also intends to market the residual cow dung as organic fertilizer, as gas sales alone may not sustain operations. Suzuki envisions expanding this biogas initiative across India.
