Tannersville Secures $1.2 Million Grant for Highway Garage in Partnership with Hunter
Tannersville received a $1.2 million grant to build a highway garage in collaboration with Hunter, increasing total funding to $2.45 million. The new garage is set to relocate from a floodplain to Route 23A and will also serve the Hunter-Tannersville School District and potentially house a substation for the Greene County Sheriff's Office. The Village of Tannersville has secured a $1.2 million grant from the state for a highway garage project in partnership with the Town of Hunter, totaling $2.45 million in funding. This facility will relocate operations from a floodplain on Railroad Avenue to Route 23A, adjacent to Hunter Town Hall.
The garage aims to support the Hunter-Tannersville School District for bus maintenance and potentially serve as a substation for the Greene County Sheriff's Office, with the school district planning future contributions. The project is currently in the design phase.
