Tantransco has begun work on two 110 kV substations in Tiruchy district to alleviate power supply issues. A Rs 10-crore substation at Kaanakiliyanallur is under construction, focusing on supporting the Pullambadi region where electricity demand is increasing due to agricultural activities.

This facility aims to reduce reliance on distant feeders and enhance the local distribution network. Meanwhile, a Rs 15-crore substation in Manachanallur is expected to commence within the month to support local rice mills and resolve low-voltage problems affecting milling operations.
