Tata Motors Expands Electric and ICE Truck Range Following GST 2.0 Demand Surge
Tata Motors is expanding its truck offerings, including electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) models, in response to increased demand driven by GST 2.0. The company reports a 29.4% volume increase from Q2 to Q3, contributing to a market share rise to 35.7% in commercial vehicles.
It plans to launch 17 next-generation trucks, including electric vehicles based on the I-MOEV architecture, which have been tested over 350,000 kilometers in various sectors. Tata Motors also upgraded its truck portfolio to meet stringent safety standards.
The company is pursuing a technology-agnostic approach to decarbonization, focusing on CNG, LNG, electric, hydrogen, and biofuels. Tata Motors is also finalizing its acquisition of Italy's Iveco to enhance its global presence in the commercial vehicle market. The company anticipates completing the acquisition by Q1 FY27.
