Tata Steel to Invest ₹11,000 Crore in Jamshedpur for Green Steel Technologies
Tata Steel plans to invest ₹11,000 crore in Jamshedpur to implement advanced green steel technologies. The investment will focus on three areas: ₹7,000 crore for iron-making technologies like HIsarna and EASYMELT, ₹1,500 crore for a Cold Rolling Mill complex, and ₹2,600 crore to expand tinplate production. These initiatives aim to reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% and modernize steel production, enhancing resource efficiency and supporting local economic growth.

Tata Steel is set to invest ₹11,000 crore in its Jamshedpur operations to introduce advanced green steel technologies. Approximately ₹7,000 crore will be allocated to advanced iron-making technologies, including HIsarna and EASYMELT, designed to reduce emissions by up to 80%.
An additional ₹1,500 crore will enhance the Cold Rolling Mill complex for producing high-strength steel, particularly for the automotive market. The remaining ₹2,600 crore will expand tinplate production capacity. This investment aims to modernize steel production, decrease environmental impact, and stimulate local economic growth through job creation in engineering and industrial services.
