Technip Energies, Airbus, Safran, and Tereos Launch Sustainable Aviation Fuel Project in Dunkirk, France
A joint venture, Rebound, has been formed by Technip Energies, Airbus, Safran, and Tereos to produce 160,000 tons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) annually at the Port of Dunkirk, France. The initiative aims to enhance energy sovereignty in Europe and support the decarbonization of aviation, aligning with EU SAF blending mandates.

Rebound, a joint venture among Technip Energies, Airbus, Safran, and Tereos, will produce approximately 160,000 tons of SAF yearly at the Port of Dunkirk. The project will utilize the Alcohol-to-Jet technology pathway and is positioned to be one of Europe's largest SAF facilities.
Partners will fund the development phase, which includes engineering studies necessary before a Final Investment Decision (FID). Notably, SAF blending mandates under EU regulations will escalate to 6% by 2030 and 70% by 2050, indicating a significant rise in SAF demand.
The project is expected to be finalized in the second half of 2026, with Technip Energies leading the engineering efforts. The initiative could impact job creation and support Europe's energy supply security.
