Æternova Partners with CY Cergy Paris University to Develop Carbon-to-Fuel Technology
Æternova, a startup focused on CO2 transformation into e-fuels, aims for market entry by 2031. The partnership with CY Cergy Paris University will enhance their low-carbon electrochemical processes, crucial for the industrial decarbonization efforts.

Æternova has secured a research partnership with CY Cergy Paris University to advance its CO2 co-electrolysis technology, targeting a market launch by 2031. Founded in June 2023, the startup, co-led by Mickaël and Alizée Arnold, specializes in producing e-syngas from decarbonized electricity and water, converting it into e-methane, e-fuels, or e-methanol.
Following three years of development, Æternova is preparing for a funding round to support further research and two years of pre-industrialization. The company aims to contribute to a circular carbon economy, particularly in hard-to-electrify sectors like aviation and maritime transport. Their approach has shown superior performance compared to existing processes.
