Tesa Receives €950,000 Funding for Hydrogen Plant Upgrade in Hamburg
Tesa has secured €950,000 from Hamburg's UfR program to transition its Hamburg facility to hydrogen by 2027. This upgrade is part of a broader €300 million investment aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing sustainability efforts.

Tesa will utilize €950,000 from the 'Companies for Resource Protection' program to convert its Hamburg production facility to hydrogen and connect to the HH-WIN hydrogen network by 2027. The transformation, part of a €300 million investment plan by 2030, aims to reduce emissions and bolster the company's resilience in supporting global sustainability goals.
The HH-WIN network, developed by Hamburger Energienetze, will consist of 60 kilometers of pipelines by 2031/32, with initial operations starting in 2027. Currently, Tesa has achieved a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions and emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency in its processes. This initiative positions Hamburg as a key hydrogen hub in Europe, potentially influencing broader industrial shifts towards sustainable energy.
