Tokyo Steel to Increase Product Prices by Up to 3% in July Amid Rising Costs
Tokyo Steel Manufacturing will raise steel product prices by 1-3% in July due to increased energy and raw material costs. This adjustment reflects ongoing cost pressures linked to the Iran conflict and global economic fragmentation.

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japan's leading electric-arc furnace steelmaker, has announced a price increase for various steel products effective July. Key items such as H-shaped beams and steel bars will see a rise of 3,000 yen ($18.7) per metric ton, while other products, including hot-rolled coils, will increase by 2,000 yen per ton.
This marks the company's first price adjustment in two months. The rising costs are attributed to escalating energy and raw materials prices amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. The price changes may influence competitive dynamics in the Asian steel market, as rivals like Posco, Hyundai Steel, and Baoshan Iron & Steel monitor these developments closely.
