Topsoe to Supply Hydroflex® Technology for Tangshan Jinlihai's SAF Project in China
Topsoe has partnered with Tangshan Jinlihai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. to supply its Hydroflex® technology for a new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project in Tangshan, Hebei province. The facility will process approximately 300,000 tons of waste oils annually into SAF and renewable diesel, aiming to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions significantly.
The project is expected to avoid around 700,000 metric tons of CO2-equivalent emissions per year, equivalent to the emissions from about two million passengers on long-haul flights. Construction of the project, with an investment of around USD 210 million, is slated to begin in the second half of 2026, with commercial operations targeted for the second half of 2028. This agreement marks Topsoe's sixth SAF contract in China, reinforcing its role in the country's low-carbon aviation sector and supporting China's dual-carbon goals.
