Torex Launches AEC-Q100 Compliant 36V/600mA DC/DC Converter Series for Automotive Applications
Torex Semiconductor has introduced the XD9704/XD9705 series of automotive-grade synchronous step-down DC/DC converters. This series, compliant with AEC-Q100 Grade 1, supports a 36V rated input and up to 600mA output current, targeting automotive communication modules and sensors, while aiming to replace conventional LDOs in efficiency-critical applications.

The XD9704/XD9705 series from Torex Semiconductor features a 36V input rating and is designed for automotive applications with high input-voltage tolerance, offering 600mA output current. Operating at a 2.2MHz switching frequency, it reduces the required mounting area to approximately 48.7mm².
The series is designed for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and incorporates Power Good and soft-start functions for enhanced power management. The XD9704 uses fixed-frequency PWM control, while the XD9705 includes automatic PWM/PFM switching for improved efficiency.
This launch is strategically significant as automotive electronics increasingly demand efficient power conversion. Torex's success will depend on turning these products into design wins amid a competitive market landscape.
