Toshiba is set to supply two sets of 175MW steam turbines and generators for the Norte III Combined Cycle Power Plant in Chihuahua, Mexico. Delivery is scheduled to begin in August, with the plant expected to commence operations in August 2017.

Abengoa owns and operates Norte III and has contracted Toshiba for the supply of STGs as part of the engineering, procurement, and construction process. The project will contribute to a total capacity of 925MW, utilizing both gas and steam turbines for improved efficiency. Toshiba has supplied 23 STGs to other thermal and geothermal plants in Mexico.
