TotalEnergies and Holcim Launch 31 MW Floating Solar Plant in Belgium
TotalEnergies and Holcim inaugurated a 31 MW floating solar power plant in Obourg, Belgium, generating 30 GWh of renewable electricity annually for Holcim's industrial facilities. The project is Europe's largest floating solar plant dedicated to self-consumption and involved over 700 meters of drilling to connect the solar panels to the electrical substation. TotalEnergies aims for over 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.

TotalEnergies and Holcim inaugurated a 31 MW floating solar power plant in Obourg, Belgium, on a rehabilitated chalk quarry site. The facility generates 30 GWh of renewable electricity annually for Holcim's industrial use, making it Europe's largest floating solar plant for self-consumption.
The project included over 700 meters of horizontal directional drilling to connect the solar panels to the electrical substation. TotalEnergies has over 34 GW of gross renewable capacity as of early 2026 and targets over 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.
