A 100-meter abnormal load truck carrying a refurbished high-voltage power transformer has reached Charleshill, Botswana, on its way to Namibia's Gerus Substation. The cargo, from Eskom Rotek Industries in South Africa, is expected to cross into Namibia today.
The convoy travels at an average speed of 25 km/h, covering about 80 kilometers per day, assisted by Botswana Traffic Police. The movement emphasizes the importance of the Trans-Kgalagadi Corridor for regional trade. The convoy aims to reach the Mamuno One Stop Border Post and Gerus Substation, 33 kilometers from Otjiwarongo, demonstrating regional collaboration in infrastructure logistics.
