Transpower Opens $32 Million Warehouse in Rolleston to Support Electrification Investment
Transpower has inaugurated a $32 million warehouse in Rolleston, New Zealand, covering 8,000 square metres and situated on 30,000 square metres of land. This facility provides double the storage capacity of its previous Addington location and includes temperature-controlled areas for critical equipment.
The investment supports Transpower's efforts to enhance the South Island's electricity transmission grid and accommodate increasing electricity demand. Over the next five to ten years, Transpower will focus on new grid connections and major projects, with capital expenditure projected at $4.7 billion, 32% higher than the previous period. The warehouse, designed for structural resilience, ensures operational capability post-natural disasters.
