A 12-hour power outage is planned in parts of Tshwane on March 8, from 8:00 to 20:00, affecting the Waltloo Industrial Area, Nellmapius, and N4 Gateway. This outage is necessary for urgent maintenance at the Waltloo Substation, where technicians will work on the 132/11kV line and a 35MVA transformer.

The city aims to improve infrastructure reliability and reduce future breakdown risks. Additionally, an old wet-type 11kV cable box will be replaced with a modern dry-type unit, enhancing environmental safety. Residents are advised to prepare for the outage and treat all electrical points as live during this period.
