Tui River Cruises Orders Two New Ships for 2028 Delivery, Expanding Fleet to Ten Vessels
Tui River Cruises has confirmed an order for two new-build ships set for delivery in 2028, expanding its fleet from six to ten vessels. The ships will operate on central European waterways, designed for the UK market with 188 passenger capacity and alternative fuel capabilities. The announcement was made during the christening of Tui Aria in Frankfurt, which serves as the line's largest vessel and fourth European river ship. Tui River Cruises has reported a 50% increase in volume across all seasons from January to February 2026 compared to the previous year.

Tui River Cruises has ordered two new-build ships for delivery in 2028, increasing its fleet from six to ten vessels. The ships will operate on central European waterways, designed for the UK market with a capacity of 188 passengers across 94 cabins and are capable of using alternative fuels like methanol.
The announcement coincided with the naming ceremony for Tui Aria in Frankfurt, which is the line's largest vessel to date. Tui River Cruises reported a 50% increase in volume between January and February 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The first new-builds, Tui Luzia and Tui Elara, are set for 2026 and 2027.
