UK and France Collaborate on Successor to Meteor Missile
The UK and France have initiated a 12-month joint study on next-generation air combat threats and missile technologies. This collaboration aims to enhance defense cooperation under the Lancaster House 2.0 treaty and address future air superiority challenges.

The UK and France have launched a year-long joint study focused on developing a successor to the Meteor missile, examining future air combat challenges and necessary technologies. This initiative is part of the Lancaster House 2.0 treaty aimed at strengthening defense ties, with a focus on improving efficiency in weapons development and enhancing NATO capabilities.
The Meteor missile, which has been in service since 2016 and is used by six European nations, serves as a benchmark for long-range missiles. The collaboration includes establishing a joint Complex Weapons Portfolio Office to coordinate missile programs and align priorities among partner nations, potentially increasing collective European defense capabilities.
