Ukrainian Defense Tech Deploys Robot for Firefighting in Kramatorsk
Ukrainian soldiers utilized the Zmiy unmanned ground vehicle to extinguish fires caused by Russian strikes in Kramatorsk. This marks a significant development in the use of robotics for emergency response in conflict zones.

The Zmiy unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) was deployed by the 12th Special Purpose Brigade 'Azov' to extinguish a fire in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, allowing soldiers to remain at a safe distance. The robot effectively doused the flames and mitigated the risk of fire spreading amidst threats of shelling.
RoverTech, the manufacturer, provided these firefighting robots to emergency services in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts in early March. The Zmiy is capable of operating remotely from up to 3,000 meters and can tow 700 kilograms, enhancing operational safety for emergency responders. As the defense tech sector evolves, Ukraine is increasingly focusing on civilian applications, potentially reducing risks in emergencies.
