Ulstein Verft Launches Two Offshore Wind Service Vessels, Hull Numbers 322 and 323
Ulstein Verft has launched two new offshore wind service vessels, hull numbers 322 and 323, designed for operations at offshore wind farms. The vessels, based on the SX222 design, feature the TWIN X-STERN® solution for enhanced fuel efficiency and are equipped with advanced technology, including a motion-compensated gangway and hybrid battery power, making them suitable for low-emission solutions. Hull number 322 has completed initial docking and is now moored for further operations, while hull number 323 remains in the dock for additional work.

Ulstein Verft commenced the new year with the launching, lifting operations, and docking of two offshore wind newbuilds, hull numbers 322 and 323. On January 2, hull number 322, a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV), was towed from the dock hall to the outer dock.
The yard's heavy-lift department mounted the tower using a crawler crane with a capacity of 600 tonnes. On January 7, the vessel was towed further out to sea and moored alongside the quay, while sister vessel hull number 323 was docked for additional work.
Both vessels are based on Ulstein's SX222 design and feature the TWIN X-STERN® solution for high fuel efficiency and reduced motion. They are powered by a hybrid battery and prepared for green methanol, making them suitable for low-emission solutions. Equipped with a motion-compensated gangway, lift tower, and 3D crane, these vessels provide a flexible platform for operations and maintenance at offshore wind farms.
