The University of Florida (UF) has narrowed its selection for the design and development of its graduate campus in downtown Jacksonville to two firms: Edgemoor Infrastructure and Real Estate and Hines Interests Limited Partnership. The new campus will comprise two buildings totaling 225,000 square feet, including the Florida Semiconductor Institute.

Classes will commence in a renovated office building on West Bay Street as construction progresses. The UF Board Chair Mori Hosseini will finalize the developer selection to expedite the process, with negotiations ongoing.

The first academic building will occupy a 2.4-acre site, while the second will be on a 1.31-acre parcel. The campus will focus on technology applications in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, medicine, and finance.
