U.S. Army Auctions CH-47F Chinooks with Reserve Prices Set
The U.S. Army has initiated an auction for Boeing CH-47F Chinook helicopters, listing six units with a reserve price of $7 million each. This auction follows the Army's previous sales of CH-47D models, which began in 2014, generating funds for the procurement of newer models.

The U.S. Army is auctioning six Boeing CH-47F models on its GSA auction platform, with each unit starting at a reserve price of $7 million. Previously, the Army sold CH-47D models, starting in 2014, with initial sales generating $2 to $3.5 million per aircraft, which helped finance the acquisition of new F models.
The CH-47F is powered by two Honeywell T55-GA-714A engines, capable of carrying 55 soldiers or 24,000 pounds of cargo. In November, Boeing received a contract for up to 60 CH-47F Block II aircraft, which include enhancements to weight capacity and mission radius. These developments may impact future military and civilian operations, particularly in heavy-lift and firefighting missions.
