US Navy Certifies SRDRS for Global Submarine Rescue Operations
The US Navy's Submarine Rescue Diving and Recompression System (SRDRS) has received certification following a successful 2,000-foot test dive. This capability enhances the Navy's readiness to respond to submarine emergencies worldwide.

The US Navy Undersea Rescue Command (URC) has certified the Submarine Rescue Diving and Recompression System (SRDRS) after a successful manned dive to 2,000 feet on March 6, near San Diego, California. This certification allows the URC to conduct submarine rescue operations globally and to integrate with an international network for emergency responses.
The SRDRS is designed for remote operation and can deploy to rescue stranded submarine crews within 96 hours. The initiative involved multiple navy entities over several years, marking a significant advancement in military rescue capabilities.
