USDA Invests $19M to Enhance Iowa's Electric Infrastructure

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development is investing $19 million to enhance Iowa's electric infrastructure. Butler County Rural Electric Cooperative received an $8 million loan for distribution facility improvements, including 9.5 miles of new consumer lines and 146.4 miles of line upgrades.

Southwest Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative was awarded an $11 million loan for substation enhancements and metering line changes, benefiting over 6,000 members. These projects aim to boost economic productivity and improve quality of life in Iowa.
