USMC Increases Expeditionary Mobility with Polaris ULTV Contract
The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded a contract for the production of Polaris Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicles (ULTV) to enhance mobility across various Marine Expeditionary Forces until May 2031. This initiative supports the Corps' strategic shift towards lightweight, air-transportable systems for rapid deployment in contested environments.

The U.S. Marine Corps has contracted Polaris for the Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV) production to support III Marine Expeditionary Force and other units through May 2031. Key capabilities of the ULTV include compatibility with MV-22 Ospreys, enabling rapid deployment into forward littoral zones and enhancing operational flexibility.
This procurement aligns with the Corps' Force Design 2030 strategy, focusing on lighter forces optimized for maritime-denial operations against peer adversaries. The contract also reflects lessons from recent exercises highlighting the need for air-transportable vehicles amid contested environments.
Polaris Defense's expertise in military mobility systems positions it as a key supplier in future distributed warfare concepts. The emphasis on lightweight tactical vehicles reduces logistics vulnerabilities while increasing the effectiveness of Marine operations.
