Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Approves ₹200 Crore for Ghaziabad Substations and Repairs in FY 2026-27
The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has approved ₹200 crore for summer repairs and upgrades in Ghaziabad for FY 2026-27, including the construction of three new substations. The initiative aims to meet the expected increase in power demand of 400 MW, following last year's peak of 1800 MW. Existing substations will also be upgraded with new transformers. The power department is targeting a March 31 deadline to complete ongoing repairs from FY 2025-26.

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has approved ₹200 crore for upgrades and repairs in Ghaziabad during FY 2026-27. This includes the establishment of three new 33/11 kV substations at Rajendra Nagar, Lal Kuan, and Raj Nagar Extension.
The district anticipates a power demand increase of 400 MW, building on last year's 1800 MW demand. Existing substations will be enhanced with additional 10 MVA transformers. Ongoing infrastructure improvements, including the upgrade of distribution transformers and modernization of substations, are also in progress. The department aims to finalize repairs from FY 2025-26 by March 31.
